10: ‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)’
‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)’ is from ENHYPEN’s 2023 DARK BLOOD album, and the moody, midtempo song definitely sounds fitting next to single ‘Bite Me’ and its vampire concept. However, the music video shows a completely different aesthetic with the members wearing pastel colours and generally looking like softboy angels. No wonder this is a fan favourite.
9: ‘Fatal Trouble’
This track was created for the group’s webtoon DARK MOON: BLOOD ALTAR, and a K-pop group having their own webtoon or web novel is not as uncommon as you’d think. Plenty of groups nowadays have 'lore' – a backstory for the group including anything from aliens to supernatural monsters. This moody rock ballad feels like its building tension throughout, making it perfect as an OST for an angsty story about werewolves and vampires.
8: ‘Given-Taken’
‘Given-Taken’ is ENHYPEN’s debut song, leaning heavily into the vampire concept that set them apart from other groups and helped them carve out a fanbase early in their careers. The song starts out with a simple string melody and builds into an explosive chorus with a strong hook and soaring falsetto, giving a taste of how the group’s sound would later develop.
7: ‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’
‘XO’ is certainly a catchy song with a stuttering, repeated hook in the chorus. The bassline gives it a bouncy rhythm, altogether creating a robotic and electronic vibe that feels tonally very different to their earlier vampire concept. The smooth groove sound is popular in K-pop, but luckily ENHYPEN pulled it off and made it uniquely theirs.
6: ‘Sweet Venom’
‘Sweet Venom’ is a real dance anthem, right from the opening guitar riff and falsetto vocals. The lyrics still make reference to vampiric themes, like the iconic bridge “I would give up heaven if I had to,” in the English version, but the upbeat tempo and almost Michael Jackson-esque chorus hook makes it feel less dark and much groovier.
5: ‘Polaroid Love’
Considering ‘Polaroid Love’ is one of the B-sides on this list, and it has such a different tone to their title tracks, it just goes to show how much ENGENEs love when the group switches it up and gives them a cutesy song every once in a while. It’s relaxed and uplifting with romantic lyrics, making for a perfect fanservice song during a concert.
4: ‘Bite Me’
As if acting as the antithesis to ‘Polaroid Love,’ ‘Bite Me’ has all the moody, sultry hallmarks of a typical ENHYPEN song, originally going viral for the group’s unique choreography including female dancers. Its rattling beat and chant section in the prechorus is a touch that will hype up any crowd, exploding into a stylish and catchy chorus. "If only the song was longer!" ENGENEs lament.
3: ‘FEVER’
‘FEVER’ is perhaps one of ENHYPEN’s most technically strong songs, praised for its sultry and angsty mood. The song feels languid, with a rolling R&B beat, definitely evoking the feeling of being sick with a fever. The song is a B-side, but went viral and brought more recognition to ENHYPEN at such an early point in their career and therefore has a soft spot in many fans’ hearts.
2: ‘Brought The Heat Back’
Released in 2024, ‘Brought The Heat Back’ is one of ENHYPEN's more recent songs. You can definitely hear the shift between their older vampire concept songs and the funky, dance-pop singles they have released recently. It could be the repeated chant of “yeah yeah yeah” throughout the song, or the energetic, disco-infused instrumental, but it’s catchy and fun and sounds like it’ll be an amazing watch onstage.
1: ‘Drunk-Dazed’
‘Drunk-Dazed’ has rock elements and a heavy bassline that would pump through your veins, but it also holds a sinister, creepy vibe that sets the song on edge. From the BORDER: CARNIVAL album, it would sound at home at a carnival on one of those fast, spinning rides that you can’t get off. The best part of the song according to fans is the outro, which goes unashamedly hard.
