With the Autumn Nations Series fast approaching, we take you through 5 of the top players set to grace the pitch later this year.

The 2022 Autumn Nations Series will mark the first time that New Zealand has played at BT Murrayfield since 2017, and the first for Argentina and Fiji since 2018.

As the series kicks off with an exciting match against Australia, we anticipate that Gregor Townsend's squad will come in fighting to rise above the Wallabies (who currently rank one position above them in the world rankings).

With what promises to be an incredible season ahead, we round up the top 5 Scottish Rugby players to look out for. Plus, we show you how to watch their home games from the best seats in the house with a premium ticket or hospitality package.

Stuart Hogg

We can’t round up our top 5 Scottish players to watch out for in 2022 without mentioning the team’s captain, Stuart Hogg.

A long-time Scottish Rugby player, Hogg has delivered both tremendous leadership and skill, gaining Six Nations Player of the Tournament twice, and garnering a total of 88 Scotland caps.

No stranger to the British & Irish Lions, Hogg has been part of the squad three times since 2013 and despite missing out on completing the full South Africa 2021 tour due to COVID, he came back fighting in the Six Nations in early 2022.

After performing well with the Exeter Chiefs, in this year’s Autumn Nations we can expect that Hogg will be leading his team with the intention of rising up the world rankings from their current seventh position.

Hamish Watson

Watson is definitely one to watch in the coming season as he will be out to continue the excellent stint of performances he put out in the 2021 Six Nations Championship, and which gained him the title of 'Player of the Championship'.

Having moved through the ranks, beginning in Scotland's under 19s team, the flanker is now known as an ever-present player who rarely misses a tackle (he made 60/60 tackles in the 2021 Six Nations.)

We are certainly excited to see what Hamish will bring to the team this Autumn!

Ali Price

A newer addition to the Scottish Rugby team, Ali Price played his international debut in 2016 during the Autumn Nations Series.

After two fixtures on the bench, Price was put on the pitch for Scotland v Georgia in which they took a 43-16 win home to BT Murrayfield.

Since then, Price has demonstrated tremendous consistency as a scrum half, having already achieved 40 international caps and gaining the honour of joining the British & Irish Lions in 2021 against Springboks.

Price is a truly exciting player to have on the squad and we anticipate that with further experience, his talent will only continue to strengthen.

Duhan van der Merwe

South African born van der Merwe joined Scottish Rugby on residency grounds in 2017 and has been a high-flyer within the team ever since.

In his debut, he scored a try against Georgia, and shortly followed with the only try of the game against England in Scotland's 2021 Calcutta Cup victory.

As the top try scorer in his first Six Nations tournament, Duhan has definitely earned his place on our top 5 list.

Jonny Gray

Beginning as a Scottish Rugby Elite Development Player, Gray established himself with a senior contract, and despite arguments that he had already reached his prime, Jonny's recent performances prove otherwise...

The lock's talents have seen him perform tremendously internationally and domestically in recent years- turn to his star performance in the 2021 Calcutta Cup win at Twickenham Stadium for example.

And if history is anything to go by, in this year's Autumn Nations Series we are sure to see even greater things from Gray as during the 2016 series he impressed with his second test try against Australia.

If you want to see Gray later this year, keep reading to discover how you can watch Scotland play from the best seats in the house at BT Murrayfield!
