Anthony Joshua's illustrious career has certified his status as one of the biggest global boxing stars on the planet.

The heavyweight champion held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles from 2014-2016, his victorious win against Wladimir Klitshcko was crowned Fight of the Year by The Ring and the Boxing Writers Association of America 2017, and he held the WBA ' super', IBF and WBO titles between 2016-2019.

However, following his second loss against Oleksandr Usyk in 2022, AJ has now been on the road to redemption, looking to prove himself to the world once again.

In April 2023, AJ achieved a remarkable victory in the heavyweight fight against Jermaine Franklin. This triumph came as a much-needed boost for Joshua, following a series of setbacks where he lost three out of five contests.

Anthony Joshua made a triumphant return to the ring by securing a unanimous decision victory over Jermaine Franklin. The judges scored the bout 118-111, 117-111, 117-111 in favour of the former two-time world champion.

With AJ now back in action, performing at his best, we couldn't be more excited to hear when Anthony Joshua’s next fight is in 2023.

Who is Anthony Joshua fighting next?

The speculation surrounding Anthony Joshua's next opponent has generated considerable buzz, with two names frequently mentioned: Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte.

Among these options, the one that has garnered significant attention in recent news is Joshua versus Whyte.

Joshua has indicated his willingness to engage in another fight during the summer, potentially against an opponent who poses a greater challenge than Jermaine Franklin, whom he defeated in his previous bout, but not at the same level as Wilder.

These discussions and rumours have reignited the possibility of AJ and fellow British boxer Dillian Whyte stepping into the ring once again for a highly anticipated rematch.

On the other side, AJ vs Wilder has a lot of weight behind it, with both fighters seemingly wanting it. There is no confirmation as of yet, but it could be announced soon.

However, this fight is said not to be happening until December and would be in Saudi Arabia.

This is one of the biggest fights in boxing right now, with many fans wanting this one as much as they want the grand Undisputed Heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II: could it happen?

AJ and Whyte previously fought back in 2015, when both fighters were undefeated and were on the rise in the British and heavyweight boxing scene.

Bad blood developed between the north and south London rivals, with Whyte doing his fair share of trash-talking in the build-up.

The bout became very heated, with the pair exchanging verbal jabs at one another any time they could. It led to an incredibly physical fight, which also saw an almost full-on brawl at the end of the very first round.

Joshua came away with the TKO victory in the seventh round, and as we all know, went on to become a two-time unified world heavyweight champion.

While Whyte hasn't reached those heights, he is still a solid boxer and would provide AJ with a strong challenge. There still seems to be some animosity there, too, so this would be a must-watch rematch.

In recent news, talks have resumed for the Joshua v Whyte rematch and the fight is back on track to be happening this summer.

According to a report released by Sky News, the showdown is set to happen on 12th August 2023 at The O2 in London.

Anthony Joshua’s next fight date?

While there hasn't been any official confirmation yet, there is strong speculation that AJ is likely to face Dillian Whyte in the summer of 2023. Additionally, there are rumours suggesting a potential showdown with Deontay Wilder scheduled for December.

As we mentioned, the speculation for the Joshua vs Wilder fight is that it will happen in December in Saudi Arabia.
