Moss Pavilions have been named in honour of ‘Mr Goodwood’ himself, the legendary Sir Stirling Moss. Stirling took part in his first race at Goodwood’s first meeting, a day after his 19th birthday, in 1948. He won here more than any other driver, including four consecutive Tourist Trophies from 1958-61, and sadly suffered career-ending injuries in his last race here, on Easter Monday 1962. In retirement, he continued his close ties, becoming a patron of the Festival of Speed in 1993.
Renowned for the excellent views of the first corner enjoyed from its impressive position, this is home to effortless entertaining at Festival of Speed. You and your guests will catch the up-close track action right off the startline as you enjoy a day of incredible motorsport, seamless service and delicious food.
Namesake Graham Hill secured his place in history as the first, and still the only, driver to claim the ‘Triple Crown of Motorsport’, winning the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. En route to his two Formula 1 World Championship titles, Hill became known as ‘Mr Monaco’ after winning the race around the principality five times between 1963 and 1969. He raced at Goodwood regularly, taking his first Formula 1 victory in 1962, and winning back-to-back Tourist Trophies in 1963 and ’64.
