About Bananarama

Formed in London in 1981, Bananarama became one of Britain's most successful female pop groups, building a catalogue that spans pop, dance and new wave influences. Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward remain at the heart of the group, which originally also featured Siobhan Fahey.

Their best-known songs include ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Venus’, ‘I Heard A Rumour’, ‘Robert De Niro's Waiting’ and ‘Love In The First Degree’. Bananarama have achieved 10 UK Top 10 singles and 25 UK Top 40 singles, while ‘Venus’ reached number one on the US Billboard chart. They have also received BRIT Award nominations and were recognised by Guinness World Records for their chart achievements.

The duo have continued recording and performing rather than relying solely on their 1980s catalogue. Recent original material has included ‘Feel The Love’ and ‘Supernova’, while 2025 brought the release of Glorious: Live In London, recorded during three celebratory performances in 2024. In 2026, Bananarama also marked 40 years of True Confessions with anniversary editions featuring archive material and new 2026 reworks.

Bananarama highlights

Bananarama formed in London in 1981 and have remained an enduring part of British pop for more than four decades.
Their version of ‘Venus’ became a US Billboard number one and achieved Top 10 success across numerous international markets.
The group have accumulated 10 UK Top 10 singles, including ‘Really Saying Something’, ‘Shy Boy’ and ‘Love In The First Degree’.
Original member Siobhan Fahey reunited with Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward for a major tour beginning in 2017 before Dallin and Woodward continued as a duo.
Bananarama celebrated more than four decades of music with a run of special UK performances in 2024, later captured on Glorious: Live In London.
They continued performing across the UK during 2025 and 2026, appearing at festivals and special live events.

What are Bananarama performances like?

A Bananarama concert brings together decades of familiar pop songs with the personality and chemistry that Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward have developed throughout their long career.

If Bananarama return to UK stages in 2027, you could hear songs from across their catalogue, from 1980s favourites such as ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Venus’ and ‘I Heard A Rumour’ to more recent material. Their 2024 celebratory shows included hits, fan favourites and songs that had rarely or never previously featured in their live performances.

For long-standing fans, a potential 2027 return would provide another opportunity to experience a catalogue closely associated with British pop history. Register your interest to hear about premium ticket and hospitality options if UK shows are announced.
