About Skepta

Skepta is a British-Nigerian rapper, producer and DJ from Tottenham who became one of the defining figures of the UK grime movement. After emerging from London's underground scene in the early 2000s, he helped take grime to a wider international audience through releases including Microphone Champion, Blacklisted, Konnichiwa and Ignorance Is Bliss.

His catalogue includes ‘That's Not Me’, ‘Shutdown’, ‘It Ain't Safe’, ‘Greaze Mode’, ‘Bullet From a Gun’ and ‘Energy (Stay Far Away)’, alongside major collaborations with artists from the UK and international rap scenes. Konnichiwa won the Mercury Prize in 2016, marking an important moment for both Skepta and grime.

Heading towards 2027, Skepta is entering another phase of his career. The forthcoming The Fork and Knife draws on different parts of British music culture, while ‘Innocent Smile’ combines rap, electronic production and club influences. Together with his Más Tiempo work, it reflects an artist continuing to move between grime, hip hop, house, garage and other sounds rather than remaining within a single genre.

What are Skepta performances like?

Skepta performances are built around his direct delivery, distinctive flow and connection with the crowd. His sets can move between grime classics, newer rap releases and tracks influenced by electronic and club music, reflecting the different directions his career has taken.

Recent UK appearances have mixed songs including ‘Shutdown’, ‘That's Not Me’ and ‘Greaze Mode’ with newer collaborations and unreleased The Fork and Knife material. That range allows Skepta to move between different periods of his career while keeping the focus firmly on live energy and audience participation.

If Skepta returns to the UK for a tour in 2027, you could have the opportunity to hear both established favourites and music from his latest era in a premium setting. Nothing has been confirmed regarding a potential 2027 setlist or production, so any future show format would depend entirely on an official announcement.
