What is the Wimbledon dress code?

There is no official Wimbledon dress code, although it is encouraged that spectators wear smart casual attire.

There is a strict 'all-white' dress code imposed upon the tennis players. As a longstanding Wimbledon tradition, it has continued to be strictly enforced throughout the tournament.

Unlike the players, you don't have to abide by such a strict dress code. However, there are some general things to bare in mind when planning your courtside outfit.

While it can be hard to establish what counts as smart casual, as a general rule, it's a good idea to get inspiration from summer wedding guest outfits. It is usually less formal than business casual or professional but still neat and well-fitted.

To help you fit the Wimbledon aesthetic, we've put together a list of suitable outfit suggestions. From summer dresses to suits, read on to discover the perfect Wimbledon outfits for both men and women.

The world-famous Centre Court is the main court for the Championships and is where the most popular tennis matches are played.

The chance to watch some of the greatest tennis players battle it out on this court is highly sought after and attracts a capacity of nearly 15,000 spectators.

It’s a good idea to dress smartly when attending as it's where the Royal Box is located - and you could definitely make it on screen. You should also look out for some famous faces and watch out for the TV cameras often sweeping through the Centre Court crowd.

If you fancy watching some of the most anticipated games from Centre Court, you can get access through Wimbledon Debenture tickets. With these tickets, you will have spectacular views of all the action from the prestigious courts.

You won't need to bring too much with you to Wimbledon as there are plenty of places to get food and drink throughout the grounds.

You can bring in one (750ml) bottle of alcohol but you will not be allowed to bring in vacuum flasks over 500ml. Unfortunately, camping chairs are not permitted at the venue.

With Wimbledon taking place at the peak of the British summer, hopefully, you can expect some hot weather to accompany a wonderful day at the tennis. Although, it is advisable to check the weather prior to attending Wimbledon, as we know how unpredictable British weather can be.

It's handy to have an umbrella, which can also function as some shade. We recommend packing sun cream as you will be outside all day and a sunhat is also a great addition.

Bring a reusable water bottle with you as there are plenty of water stations to fill up and keep hydrated throughout the day.
