Peter Kay has long been established as an icon of British comedy. The BAFTA Award-winning 48-year-old comedian has written, produced and acted in several hugely successful TV and film projects over the past 26 years.
However, following the cancellation of his 100-show tour in 2017 due to "unforeseen family circumstances", Kay has remained under the radar with fans fearing he may never tour again.
However, after taking a break from the public eye, Peter Kay has now announced his highly anticipated comeback tour in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Has Peter Kay made an appearance since 2017?
Peter Kay was scheduled to perform a sold-out 14-month stand-up tour in 2017. However, he sadly had to cancel all shows due to family circumstances, releasing this statement at the time on social media: “Due to unforeseen family circumstances I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.”
He also expressed that “the decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you’ll understand my family must always come first.”
After cancelling his tour, Kay took a step back from public life with the exception of making some charity appearances post-2017.
Kay notably sold out two live shows at the Manchester Apollo to raise money for Laura Nuttall and the Brain Tumour Charity, where the comic received a standing ovation from the thousands in attendance.
This year, the Phoenix Nights and Peter Kay's Car Share star made a rare public appearance with a handful of danceathon shows for his ‘Dance for Life’ charity events to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
When was Peter Kay’s last tour?
Peter Kay’s last tour was titled ‘The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour...Now On Tour’, which included 112 shows that ran from April 2010 to October 2011.
The expansive comedy tour saw Kay visit 12 venues across the UK. As a result, he broke records to be the fastest-selling comedy act in Britain at the time.
As part of the tour, Kay played 20 consecutive shows at Manchester Arena, breaking the venue’s records for the most consecutive performances by a comic ever.
He also performed a record-breaking 15 shows at London O2 Arena, which is also the most shows performed by any comedian at this venue.
