The Cobham born rocker has recently announced that he will be embarking on his ‘i/o The Tour’, playing 24 dates across Europe in 2023, including some huge shows in the UK.

Is Peter Gabriel releasing new music?

Peter Gabriel’s new tour in 2023 comes off the back of the ‘Solsbury Hill’ singer announcing that he will be releasing his 10th studio album ‘i/o’ in 2023, the performer's first new music since his 2011 album ‘New Blood’.

While the details of the album's tracklist and release date are still unconfirmed, Gabriel stated “It’s been a while, and I am now surrounded by a whole lot of new songs and am excited to be taking them out on the road for a spin” when announcing the new album and tour.

Known as an artist that likes to take his time to perfect his music before releasing, fans will be ecstatic to finally have confirmation that the singer's new album is imminent.

When was Peter Gabriel's last tour?

Peter Gabriel's last tour was his ‘The Rock Paper Scissors North American Tour’ in 2016. The singer performed 21 dates across the continent alongside fellow music icon, Sting. The tour was a roaring success and received fantastic reviews from critics.  

Gabriel’s last visit to the UK on tour came in 2014, as part of his ‘Back To Front Tour’. The ‘Sledgehammer’ singer played seven dates across the UK, including shows at The O2 Arena, London, Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield and Resorts World Arena, Birmingham.

The ‘Back To Front Tour’ consisted of 67 dates across North America and Europe, and was a retrospective performance in homage to his multi-platinum 1986 album ‘So’.

The tour was recorded and made into a box set titled ‘Back To Front Encore Series’ and his performance at The O2 Arena, London was released as a live album titled ‘Back To Front: Live In London’.

Peter Gabriel's tour in 2023, the ‘i/o The Tour’ is currently confirmed to consist of 24 dates across Europe, however, more dates could possibly be announced in the future.
