What has Michael McIntyre been up to?

Michael McIntyre first started to break onto the British comedy scene in 2007, when he featured on BBC One’s ‘Live at the Apollo’.

The biggest breaks that proved he is one of the best of his time include his own ‘Live at the Apollo’ type show, called ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’, as well as hosting the ‘Royal Variety Show’.

McIntyre has gone on multiple highly successful stand-up tours, with his debut tour selling out over 100 dates and the DVD release of ‘Michael McIntyre Live & Laughing’ becoming the fastest-selling debut stand-up DVD of all time (at the time).

In recent years, the London comic has been working more on TV, hosting variety and game shows.

‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ has been going strong since 2015, being a main feature on BBC One’s programming anytime a new series is brought out, or when he does a Christmas special version.

He also took up the hosting duties of a game show called ‘The Wheel’ in 2020, which has also become one of BBC One’s most popular programmes. Its popularity is so much so that it has grown to other countries, such as the Netherlands, France and Spain, and in 2022 it was taken to the US to feature on NBC, with McIntyre still at the helm.

What is Michael McIntyre doing in 2023?

2023 will likely see McIntyre doing more of what he has been doing over the last few years.

A new series of ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ is starting on the 14th of January - an earlier showing than when it has been on in past years, where it's featured in November and December.

The original British version of ‘The Wheel’ began its third season in October 2022. It is scheduled for 12 episodes, with the last one being the seventh, a Christmas special. So there is plenty more of that to come as well.
