Welsh rugby legend George North bids farewell to his international career, announcing his retirement as he looks forward to joining French second-tier side Provence.

George North, one of Wales's greatest rugby players for over a decade, leaves behind an illustrious legacy as he retires from international rugby with Wales and begins his journey with French side Provence. His unwavering dedication, hard work, and undeniable talent have played a pivotal role in establishing Wales as one of the most successful teams in rugby and securing Six Nations glory. With an impressive record of 23 tries in 50 Six Nations matches, he has consistently demonstrated his prowess on the field.

We congratulate the Seat Unique brand ambassador on an incredible rugby career that has left an indelible mark in the history of Welsh rugby. George has shattered records and left his mark on Welsh rugby history. With an impressive 120 caps for Wales and scoring 6 tries in 20 matches across three World Cups, George North has firmly established himself as one of the nation's most decorated players. His 47 tries in a Wales jersey make him the second-highest all-time try scorer for the national team.

Notably, George showcased his exceptional talent on the international stage during the 2013 and 2017 British and Irish Lions tours. His electrifying performances not only helped secure victories but also earned him admiration from rugby enthusiasts worldwide. We recall his outstanding contribution in the 2013 Lions' triumph in Australia, where he scored two tries in three matches.

As George retires from his career with Wales Rugby, he embarks on a new chapter in France where he will join Provence in the upcoming season.  Provence, currently placed 2nd in their league, are on track to secure a spot in the Top 14. With George joining their ranks for the 2024/24 season, Provence aim to further strengthen their squad and continue their upward trajectory in the world of rugby.

Announcing his retirement on X (formerly Twitter), George North said: "I’ve decided that the game on Saturday will bring my international career to an end. After 14 years it feels like now is the right time to step away. I have loved and cherished every second in a Welsh shirt and been able to play alongside some fantastic teammates. I’ve been very lucky to have lived my dream. I’m excited for the next chapter."
