The internationally renowned British band played their last concert in 2007, marking their 40th anniversary. The band, now made up of Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, confirmed the news of their 2020 comeback on Zoe Ball's BBC2 Breakfast Show on 4th March.
On the show, Collins revealed that his 18-year-old son Nick had a huge influence on Genesis' decision to reunite; since Collins has been left unable to play the drums following back surgery, Nick will replace his father as the band's live drummer.
Reunion rumours had been circulating towards the end of last year, following Rutherford's appearance on Good Morning Britain where he stated: ‘I’ve always said, for years, never say never and we did the tour 10 years ago, and Phil is in good shape. ‘We’re all fit and healthy and we get on well, so who knows?’
