From ‘West End Girls’ and ‘It's a Sin’ to major stages around the world, Pet Shop Boys have built a live legacy spanning more than four decades.

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe show few signs of slowing down. After taking their Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live tour around the world again in 2026, Pet Shop Boys have new music on the way this October. They also left fans with an intriguing message following their final summer concert: "See you in 2027."

So, could another Pet Shop Boys tour be on the horizon?

No 2027 concert tour has been officially announced at the time of writing. But with A man from the future arriving in October and Pet Shop Boys continuing to develop new live concepts alongside Dreamworld, there is plenty to look forward to.

Will Pet Shop Boys tour in 2027?

Pet Shop Boys have not yet confirmed a 2027 UK tour. However, there is one tantalising clue.

Following their final summer concert of 2026 at Suset Festival in Esbjerg, Denmark, Pet Shop Boys thanked everyone who had attended the tour before signing off with: "See you in 2027."

Exactly what that means remains unknown. It should not be treated as confirmation of a new tour, but it does suggest fans have more Pet Shop Boys activity to anticipate next year. The duo have certainly maintained a busy live schedule. Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live returned for international dates throughout 2026, including concerts in Japan, South America and Europe.

Their European summer included a UK appearance at Lytham Festival on Saturday 4th July 2026, before the run concluded in Scandinavia in August.

After another extensive year on stage, attention can now turn towards what Tennant and Lowe have planned for 2027.

Pet Shop Boys have new music coming in 2026

Before looking too far ahead, there is a major Pet Shop Boys release still to come this year.

A man from the future will be released as an album through Parlophone Records on Friday 9th October 2026.

The project is an audio and musical biography of British mathematician, computer pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing, created by Pet Shop Boys in collaboration with Turing biographer Professor Andrew Hodges.

It explores eight chapters in Turing's life and death through songs, spoken word, electronic music and orchestral arrangements.

The work itself has a longer history. Pet Shop Boys originally debuted A man from the future at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms in 2014, accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra and BBC Singers, with narration from actor Juliet Stevenson.

More than a decade later, Tennant and Lowe have returned to the project and substantially revised it for its first album release.

What is the new version of ‘A man from the future’?

Rather than simply releasing a recording of the original 2014 performance, Pet Shop Boys have created a new version of the work.

Recording took place across London, Manchester and Berlin. Tennant recorded new sung vocals, while Stevenson returned to provide the narration. The Manchester Camerata Octet performs Sven Helbig's string arrangements, with the Manchester Grammar School choir also appearing on the album. Tennant and Lowe provide the original programming and keyboards, while Pet Shop Boys and Helbig produced the record.

The album contains eight pieces, beginning with ‘Natural wonders every child should know’ and concluding with the title track, ‘A man from the future’.

Ahead of its release, BBC Radio 6 Music will broadcast the new recording as a world exclusive on Sunday 4th October 2026, followed by a BBC Radio 3 broadcast later that evening.

Pet Shop Boys and Hodges will then appear at Imperial War Museum North in Manchester on Thursday 8th October for a sold-out listening and conversation event featuring a complete playback of the album.

Could new Pet Shop Boys music lead to more live shows?

That is the exciting question, although there is currently no confirmation that A man from the future will lead to a new concert tour.

The project is very different from a conventional Pet Shop Boys studio album. Its combination of electronic and orchestral music, narration and choir makes it a distinctive addition to their catalogue rather than simply the next chapter after 2024's Nonetheless.

Despite this, Pet Shop Boys have repeatedly shown that their live performances can take different forms. Their recent history ranges from the large-scale greatest hits production of Dreamworld to much more intimate concerts designed for dedicated followers. That willingness to change the format makes predicting their next move particularly difficult – and particularly interesting.

‘Obscure Pet Shop Boys’ showed another side of the duo

One of the most interesting developments of 2026 was Obscure Pet Shop Boys.

Rather than concentrating on the hits, Tennant and Lowe performed five consecutive sold-out concerts at London's Electric Ballroom in April featuring non-single album tracks and B-sides.

The concept subsequently travelled to Berlin in July under the name Obskur Pet Shop Boys, with two sold-out concerts at Huxleys Neue Welt. It presented almost the opposite proposition to Dreamworld. Whereas Dreamworld celebrates songs recognised around the world, Obscure Pet Shop Boys gave committed fans the opportunity to hear material that rarely receives the same attention in a greatest hits set.

For now, all three remain possibilities rather than confirmed plans.

Where could Pet Shop Boys perform in 2027?

Pet Shop Boys currently have no venues or tour dates have been announced for the upcoming year.

Nevertheless, recent developments have demonstrated the range of settings in which the duo can perform. In 2026 alone, their UK appearances ranged from the relatively intimate Electric Ballroom to an outdoor headline performance at Lytham Festival.

A future UK run could therefore take several forms, from arena concerts and festival appearances to smaller shows centred around a specialist setlist. And with A man from the future combining Pet Shop Boys' electronic music with strings, choir and spoken-word performance, their latest project highlights yet another side of their work.

Whether any of those ideas influence their future concerts remains to be seen.

What could be on a Pet Shop Boys 2027 setlist?

Predicting a setlist before a tour has even been announced comes with obvious limitations.

If Dreamworld returns, audiences could expect the emphasis to remain on the duo's extensive singles catalogue. Pet Shop Boys have one of British pop's most recognisable collections of songs, stretching from their 1980s breakthrough with ‘West End Girls’ through ‘Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)’, ‘It's a Sin’ and ‘What Have I Done to Deserve This?’ to later releases.

A continuation of the Obscure Pet Shop Boys concept would produce a very different setlist, drawing more heavily from B-sides and lesser-performed album tracks.

Then there is their newer material - their 15th studio album, Nonetheless, arrived in 2024, while A man from the future will add another major work to the Pet Shop Boys catalogue in October 2026.

There is consequently no shortage of material from which Tennant and Lowe could build their next live production.

What else is coming from Pet Shop Boys?

A man from the future is not the only project extending Pet Shop Boys' work into new territory. Tennant and Lowe are also executive producers, alongside Russell T Davies, of Rambert's dance adaptation of It's a Sin.

The production is scheduled to tour the UK during 2027, visiting cities including Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, Newcastle, Glasgow and Sheffield.

It is important to distinguish that production from a Pet Shop Boys concert tour. Nevertheless, combined with the release of A man from the future, it means their music and creative work will remain prominent heading into 2027.

What’s next for Pet Shop Boys?

For now, the biggest confirmed date is Friday 9th October 2026, when A man from the future is released through Parlophone. Beyond that, 2027 remains open.

Pet Shop Boys' "See you in 2027" message certainly gives fans something to consider, but until Tennant and Lowe announce their plans, there are no confirmed 2027 Pet Shop Boys concert dates.

What is clear is that this is not an act relying solely on nostalgia. More than 40 years after ‘West End Girls’ first appeared, Pet Shop Boys are still recording music, revisiting ambitious projects and finding new ways to present their catalogue on stage.

From West End girls to world stages, their story is still moving forward.
