What is the Yas Marina Circuit like?

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is held at the Yas Marina circuit on Yas Island, 30 minutes from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The circuit comprises 16 corners, all of which have been hailed as “unique” by former F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg upon driving there for the first time in 2009.

Some of the key features of the circuit includes part of the pit lane exit that goes under the track, the section of the circuit that passes the marina where spectators can watch from their yachts, and that same section continues on to run through the Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi.

The circuit was redesigned slightly for the 2021 edition to promote overtaking. Turns four, five and six have been changed to be one continuous straight into the hairpin, while the previous turns 11,12 and 13 have been reconfigured as well.

Where are the best seats at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?

The Yas Marina circuit has a capacity of 60,000, with seating darted around the circuit.

General admission will have you secluded to the one section called the “Abu Dhabi Hill”. It is a very small section you are confined to in comparison to other Grands Prix general admission, so it’s not an ideal experience.

Then there are the five grandstands - Main Grandstand, North Grandstand, West Grandstand, Marina Grandstand and South Grandstand.

They are situated in different important areas of the track, so whichever you choose you should see some exciting action.

But we are talking about the very best seats at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the ones that will give you the very best experience. And the only right answer is with the hospitality packages.

With this package, you will receive a day pass to the hotel, in which you will get a private suite with premier terrace access and incredible views of the on-track action.

Fine food will be available for you, be it through the gourmet buffet luncheon menu, the full-time selection of savoury finger foods, or from one of the 12 restaurants within the hotel that you are welcome to indulge in during your day stay.

While it doesn’t guarantee you a night in one of the hotel rooms, you will still be experiencing what the hotel has to offer.

Turn 1 Suite

The Turn 1 Suite is located - unsurprisingly - in a suite within the Main Grandstand which oversees the final corner, pitlane, pit straight and up to turn 1.

Inside the suite you will have your premium amenities, such as free-flowing beverages, a restaurant experience with a la carte menu and live entertainment.

Because when there isn’t any racing on track, you will have the opportunity to walk the track on the Thursday, have a Championship Trophy photo opportunity on the Saturday and, possibly best of all, a guided paddock tour where you can watch the teams and drivers do their thing.

Luna Lounge

Described as “A jewel in the crown at Yas Conference Centre”, the Luna Lounge is a modern rooftop venue that is sure to dazzle and excite.

In the Luna Lounge, you will get amazing 360° views of the track, live music featuring top DJs, premium dining brought to you by the award-winning global restaurant CE LA VI, and the opportunity for a pit lane walk on the Thursday.
