ICC World Test Championship Final Match & Venue

The 2023 ICC World Test Championship Final will be contested by two of cricket's most dominant teams: Australia and India.

Australia Finished top of the league this season to advance to the final, a much-improved finish on their final standing of third in 2021. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne combined for a spectacular 3,016 runs throughout the competition to fire the Australians into a commanding league lead and will be looking to continue their dominance in the final.

Their opponents, India, placed second in the table to advance to their second consecutive ICC World Test Championship Final, and will be hoping to go one better than in 2021 and win the competition. In the Final, India will again look to master bowlers Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin to help them bring home the title.

The heated affair is scheduled to take place from the 7th - 10th of June at The Kia Oval, the famous home of Surrey County Cricket Club and Oval Invincibles.


ICC World Test Championship competition overview

The ICC World Test Championship 2023 was the second edition of the most prestigious ICC cricket competition and saw nine of cricket's finest international teams battle it out for league dominance. The teams featuring in the 2021-2023 World Test Championship were Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.

The Pataudi Trophy series between England and India kicked off the competition, with the event’s inaugural runners-up India looking to make a good start to their new campaign.

In the Championship’s final standings, Bangladesh found themselves bottom of the pile followed by reigning champions New Zealand. West Indies finished in seventh place, with Pakistan in sixth, England fifth and Sri Lanka fourth. Australia and India were dominant forces in the competition and occupied the two top spots respectively; South Africa finished in third place, just missing out on a spot in the final.

The Kia Oval is a historic cricket stadium located in Kennington, London, England. It was established in 1845 and has since then hosted numerous international cricket matches, including the Ashes series and the ICC Champions Trophy. The stadium has a seating capacity of 27,500 spectators and is also used for hosting other sporting events, music concerts, and corporate events.

The Oval is also home to the Surrey County Cricket Club, which was founded in 1845. The stadium has undergone several renovations over the years, including the installation of floodlights and the addition of a new stand, making it a modern and world-class sporting venue.
