About Côr World Choir

Côr World Choir is a massed choral event created as part of the Land of Song Festival 2027, a major celebration of Wales’s musical heritage and its long-standing identity as the Land of Song.

The event takes inspiration from Cardiff’s World Choir concerts of 1992 and 1993, when thousands of singers came together at the former National Stadium at Cardiff Arms Park. More than three decades later, Côr World Choir will bring the concept to Principality Stadium on an even greater scale.

Up to 20,000 adult singers from Wales, the wider UK and around the world are being brought together for the 2027 performance. Community groups, chamber choirs, choral societies and experienced singers will form one enormous collective choir, accompanied by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Côr World Choir forms part of a wider festival programme celebrating singing across generations. The Land of Song Festival will also feature Young Voices Cymru and an Andrea Bocelli headline concert during a major weekend of music in Cardiff.
