As one of the most popular bands in Britain and the US in the 70s and 80s, many people want a fully reformed Fleetwood Mac to come back for one last tour.

‘Rumours’ of a Fleetwood Mac tour that includes exiled Lindsey Buckingham have been swirling for some time, with the guitarist himself saying as recently as January 2022 that he would be open to “one more nice run” (from an interview with Classic Rock).

So will the beloved band return as the so-loved fivesome anytime soon? Find out our prediction for some final Fleetwood Mac concerts, and better yet, some final Fleetwood Mac UK concerts, and how you could get VIP tickets.

When did Fleetwood Mac last release music?

Fleetwood Mac’s last official full album was ‘Say You Will’, released in 2003. This, though, did not feature vocalist/ keyboardist Christine McVie, as she had left the band in 1998 (she did make some brief appearances on the album, however).

They released an online-only EP named ‘Extended Play’ in 2013. It only featured four tracks, but it was still the first piece of new music from the band in 10 years.

When did Fleetwood Mac last tour?

Fleetwood Mac’s last tour was the ‘An Evening with Fleetwood Mac’ tour in 2018 and 2019. It was a world tour that primarily had shows in North America but also went to Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany and the UK.

That tour didn’t feature Buckingham, though. He left the band due to disagreements concerning the tour. In his place, the band brought in Mike Campbell (formerly of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Neil Finn (formerly of Split Enz and Crowded House).

It was the first time the band had gone on tour without Buckingham. The last tour with all five band members (Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, John McVie and Christine McVie) was the ‘On With The Show’ tour from 2013 to 2015.

Will there be any Fleetwood Mac concerts in 2024?

Originally, the ‘An Evening with Fleetwood Mac’ tour - along with one last album - was going to be the band's farewell tour. Their last hurrah to the world together. But since Buckingham wasn’t a part of the last tour, there is still a chance that they will reunite for the proper farewell tour.

As mentioned earlier, exiled Buckingham has said that he would be open to returning, but that the ball is in Stevie Nicks’ court as to whether or not she would like to have him back, despite it being Mick Fleetwood’s band, who is very much in favour of bringing him back for a farewell tour.

Unfortunately, Buckingham has said that he hasn’t had any contact with Nicks for a very long time, so at the moment it is unknown whether they will be coming together again.

A Guardian article from October 2023 reported that Nicks said Fleetwood Mac would not go on tour again after the death of McVie in November 2022. In an interview with Vulture discussing the shows in 2018, she said: “We had a really great time and it was a huge tour. That was there in the realm of possibility. But when Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her. You just can’t. Without her, what is it?” Nicks said.

“Who am I going to look over to on the right and have them not be there behind that Hammond organ? When she died, I figured we really can’t go any further with this. There’s no reason to.”

However, things can change. We can only hope Fleetwood Mac will hit the road for one last farewell tour. In the meantime, you can catch the ''Finest Fleetwood Mac TRIBUTE Concert Experience'', Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, live in Hull on Saturday 13th April 2024. Secure your seat below!
