The Europa League Quarter-Finals are now complete and the Semi-Final ties have been drawn.

Europa League Knockout Rounds

The knockout stage of the competition is heading into the Semi-Finals next, with the draw now complete and the ties set.

One of the biggest shock exits in the Quarter-Final stage was that of Premier League giants Manchester United, who suffered a huge 3-0 away defeat to Sevilla after drawing 2-2 at Old Trafford.

Europa League Semi-final matches

Following the results of the Quarter-Final stage, the Semi-final matchups are now confirmed.

After a 4-2 aggregate thrashing of Feyenoord in the previous round, AS Roma, led by Jose Mourinho, will take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Semi-Finals. The German side dispatched Union Saint-Gilloise 5-2 to book their place in the penultimate round.

Italian giants Juventus scraped through their Quarter-Final tie with Sporting Lisbon 2-1 to advance to the Semis, and will face off against six-time Europa League winners Sevilla who emphatically dumped out Manchester United in the last round.

The draw ended up looking as such:

  • AS Roma vs Bayer Leverkusen
  • Juventus vs Sevilla

The Semi-final matches will be played on these dates:

  • 1st Leg - 11th May
  • 2nd Leg - 18th May

Europa League Final

The Europa League Final will take place on the 31st of May 2023, 10 days before the Champions League Final. It will be held in Budapest, Hungary, at the Puskas Arena.

The fairly new stadium, opened in 2019, has a capacity of 67,000+ and is being used for the second time to host a UEFA Final, with the 2020 UEFA Super Cup between Bayern Munich and Sevilla, where Bayern came away with a 2-1 victory.
