Duran Duran is an English new wave and synth-pop band formed in Birmingham in 1978. The group was founded by keyboardist Nick Rhodes and bassist John Taylor, later joined by drummer Roger Taylor, guitarist Andy Taylor, and singer Simon Le Bon, collectively known as the 'Fab Five.' Their name was inspired by the character Durand Durand from the 1968 film Barbarella.

No. 9 Is There Something I Should Know? (1983)

Is There Something I Should Know? was released on March 14th, 1983. It was Duran Duran’s first UK number one single, debuting on the chart on March 26th 1983. The music video, directed by Russell Mulcahy, was extremely popular on MTV in 1983. It featured the band in blue and white shirts and white ties, the video includes earlier Duran Duran references, signalling a change in the band’s visual branding. 

No. 8 The Wild Boys (1984)

The Wild Boys is a hit 1984 single by Duran Duran. Produced by Nile Rodgers, the song was received extremely well, reaching number two on both the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100. Inspired by William S. Burroughs The Wild Boys, it features the band members in dangerous situations reminiscent of Mad Max 2 (1981).

It was filmed at Shepperton Studios and featured the band performing on a catwalk stage while models enact erotic scenes.

The single version of "The Reflex" is a remix produced by Nile Rodgers, which significantly enhanced the song's sound with innovative sampling and production techniques.
