Coldplay have indicated that they plan to return to the road in 2027 – and another major chapter of the Music of the Spheres World Tour could be on the horizon.

The band have not officially announced their 2027 tour dates. At the time of writing, Coldplay's official tour page lists no scheduled concerts. However, Chris Martin has already given fans a significant reason to look ahead.

During Coldplay's record-breaking Wembley Stadium residency in 2025, Martin told the crowd that the Music of the Spheres World Tour had another 138 shows to go. He also said the band had a break coming up and would announce shows for 2027.

Importantly, that does not mean all 138 remaining concerts will take place in 2027. Coldplay have yet to reveal how those shows will be divided across future touring plans.

Speaking during Coldplay's Wembley Stadium run on Saturday 6th September 2025, Martin told the audience: "This tour has 138 more shows to go." He then added that Coldplay would go on break, and subsequently announce their 2027 shows. The comments provide a strong indication that the band's touring plans will continue into 2027, although dates, venues and destinations have not yet been revealed.

The Music of the Spheres World Tour began in Costa Rica on Friday 18th March 2022 and has since taken Coldplay to stadiums around the world. The concerts have brought together songs from across the band's career alongside material from Music of the Spheres and their 2024 album Moon Music.

Until Coldplay formally announce their schedule, however, potential destinations and venues remain unconfirmed.

Where could Coldplay tour in 2027?

Coldplay's previous touring schedule demonstrates just how extensive a future itinerary could be.

The Music of the Spheres World Tour has already visited major destinations around the world, with its various legs including cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Los Angeles, Chicago and Mexico City.

With Martin stating that the tour has another 138 shows to go, there is considerable scope for further performances. These could potentially include return visits to established touring destinations as well as concerts in places not featured on previous legs.

Exactly where the band will perform in 2027 remains unknown. No cities or venues have been officially confirmed at the time of writing.

Could Coldplay return to the UK in 2027?

No UK concerts have been confirmed for 2027, but Coldplay's most recent run demonstrated the considerable demand to see the band on home soil.

Their 2025 UK schedule featured two concerts at Craven Park in Hull alongside 10 dates at Wembley Stadium. Coldplay confirmed that all 12 UK concerts sold out within hours when tickets went on sale in September 2024.

The Wembley run was particularly significant, with Coldplay becoming the first act to schedule 10 concerts at the stadium during a single tour. Given the scale of those shows, a future UK stadium run is one possibility if Britain forms part of Coldplay's 2027 itinerary.

London would naturally attract attention following the band's Wembley residency. Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh could also become subjects of fan speculation if another UK leg is announced.

Could Coldplay play Wembley Stadium again?

Wembley Stadium has played a major role in Coldplay's recent touring history.

The band's 2025 residency comprised 10 sold-out dates, although its final two scheduled concerts were subsequently moved because of planned London Underground industrial action.

The concerts originally scheduled for Sunday 7th and Monday 8th September were moved to Saturday 6th and Friday 12th September respectively. In their announcement explaining the changes, Coldplay said it would have been impossible to get approximately 82,000 people to and from each concert safely without sufficient Underground services.

Following the scale of the 2025 residency, Wembley could attract attention again if Coldplay's future touring plans include another London run. There is currently no confirmation that the band will return to Wembley in 2027. Fans will need to wait for an official announcement before making plans around any potential UK concerts.

What could a Coldplay 2027 setlist include?

Coldplay have built an extensive catalogue across more than two decades, giving the band plenty of material to draw upon when they return to the stage.

Chris Martin has said Coldplay intend to complete a 12-album catalogue, with the remaining projects including a musical and a self-titled album called Coldplay. He has also made clear that completing the planned 12 albums would not necessarily mean the band will stop touring.

Coldplay described the initiative as a world first for a stadium show. A break before the 2027 concerts could also give the band an opportunity to develop the production further. If new music arrives before the shows, that could potentially influence the staging, visuals and setlist.

When could Coldplay announce their 2027 tour?

Coldplay have not confirmed an announcement date for their 2027 shows.

Martin's Wembley comments indicate that an announcement is planned following the band's break. At the time of writing, however, Coldplay's official tour page says there are no dates currently scheduled.
