About AEW London

AEW’s roots stem from independent wrestlers wanting to showcase their talent and worth without being part of the trivialised version of their product that the WWE had become.

From debuting in January 2019 to what it has become now, AEW continues to grow from strength to strength, becoming a true main player in the pro wrestling world.

It has now reached a point where the company can be brought overseas to bring British fans into the mix with the AEW UK tour, and in particular, hosting All In in England’s capital city of London.

AEW Top Stars

AEW’s roster is made up of many brilliant talents from across the pro wrestling world. Some of these talents were once top guys in the WWE, some have come from the independent scene to finally be able to showcase their abilities to a wider audience, and some are AEW's own homegrown stars.

Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks were part of the team that started to put AEW together, creating the original All In PPV along with the now WWE star Cody Rhodes. Omega and the Bucks, now part of a faction called ‘The Elite,’ are three of the company's most prized possessions.

The current AEW World Champion MJF is one of AEW’s homegrown talents and is known as one of the pillars of the company along with Darby Allin, ‘Jungleboy’ Jack Perry, and Sammy Guevara.

These four are seen as the future of the promotion and are proving themselves as such with a brilliant programme together this year.

However, Britt Baker has also been spoken about as being a pillar. The former AEW Women’s champion had a very strong title reign and really helped the company's women’s division to grow to the point it's at now.

What’s more, she also helped usher in the current women’s champion, England’s very own Jamie Hayter, who wasn’t very known when she came in and is now one of the top stars in the wrestling world.

As mentioned, some wrestlers transitioned from WWE over to AEW, either through being unhappy in the latter and wanting something different, or they were simply released and came over to AEW.

Chris Jericho is one of the biggest names in wrestling. The former multi-time WWE champion has wrestled all over the world and has reinvented himself time and time again to keep relevant and continue at a high level, which he is still performing at in AEW.

Others who did the same and were fairly major players in the WWE are:

  • Adam Cole
  • Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan)
  • Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose)
  • FTR (The Revival)
  • Saraya (Paige)
  • Christian Cage (Christian)
  • CM Punk
  • Matt & Jeff Hardy
  • Toni Storm
  • Ruby Soho (Ruby Riot)

*Stars’ former WWE names are in brackets

AEW London Show - All In

AEW will be bringing their All In PPV over to London for their first-ever UK show, and it is set to be a big one.

While All In isn’t one of their four ‘Big Four’ PPVs, it is the same name of the show that essentially kickstarted all of AEW, so it is a massive deal for the company and the fact that they are holding it in the UK shows that they have intentions of starting some good relations here.

Not many details are currently known about All In as there are still two major PPVs to come before it as well as a number of special weekly episodes that act as mini PPVs, so things can change and be very different come the time of All In.

However, with it being their first show in the UK, we can assume that they will want to put on a show for the fans - especially since they are hosting it in the biggest venue possible.

Jamie Hayter is currently the Women’s champion, and as she hails from Southampton, England, it's fair to assume she will be on the card and fairly high up, too.

MJF draws a massive reaction wherever he goes, so he should definitely be on the card. And a possibly returning CM Punk could get a wild reaction should he be back wrestling in the company.

With All In still some time away, with the date set for Sunday 27th August, we will have to wait to see how things go over the next few months before we can start piecing together how the card will look for the show.

AEW at Wembley Stadium

In 2023, AEW made history by holding their debut show in the UK at Wembley Stadium, the legendary venue known as the home of English football. This marked the first time in over three decades that Wembley Stadium hosted a major wrestling PPV, following WWE's memorable Summerslam event in 1992 that drew a disputed crowd of 80,355 fans. Many of the WWE's biggest stars at the time, including Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, and Britain's own British Bulldog, showcased their talents in that unforgettable event.

The WWE followed suit with the success of wrestling shows in the UK, bringing a major PPV back to the country in 2023. The WWE's Money In The Bank took place at the O2 Arena on July 1st, 2023, following the memorable Clash at the Castle event held at Principality Stadium in Cardiff the previous year. These events showcased the undeniable passion of UK fans for pro wrestling, setting the stage for AEW's triumphant return to Wembley Stadium for their second show in the UK.
