<p>Founded in 1865, Nottingham Forest achieved huge success under Brian Clough in the 1970s, winning the Football League title in 1977-78 and securing promotion to the top division. On the European stage, they won back-to-back European Cups (now the Champions League) in 1979 and 1980. They also added four League Cups during this era.</p>
<p>Forest were relegated from the Premier League in 1999 and spent much of the following decades in the second tier of English football. After years of managerial changes and near-misses in promotion campaigns, the team returned to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years in 2022, under the management of Steve Cooper.</p>
